Leadership & Philosophy

I have over 30 years of professional experience in the private and public sectors, and have proven my leadership skills while working with major organizations and internationally renowned experts.

I have strong interpersonal skills and have always worked in a multicultural environment.

I treat people with respect and dignity.

I use tact and diplomacy, as well as the grievance process to negotiate and influence management to resolve issues.

I always emphasize areas of agreement, and seek amenable compromises on areas of disagreement, whenever possible I always, advocate a give-and-take approach.

Union Accomplishments

I have personally taken on the challenges of my union brothers and sisters.  I have involved myself wherever issues have occurred, whether they have concerned the ESEP, the security breach, core comp and SCI, ratification, or staffing.

I have successfully engaged management on issues that matter most to you individually, as well as any violation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As a collateral duty, I was an EEO Counselor for 5 years in the AWP Civil Rights Division's EEO program.  I have a strong sense of justice.

I am NATCA's Airports National Representative in my second term.  I take my role very seriously.   I truly believe in the principle of solidarity, and I have a reputation for thoroughness.

I have been very active legislatively with California's Congressional leaders.

I was very influential in helping turn the tide to create a favorable FAA Reauthorization.
